A regularly-updated business plan is critically important for any business that wants to thrive and grow. As the saying goes, failing to plan is planning to fail. It’s amazingly common for business owners to let their businesses be controlled by external forces, with no plan in place. It’s also common to prepare a business plan purely when seeking to raise finance. When the finance is banked, the plan goes back in the drawer. A business plan is essential if you want to ensure that the business delivers on its promise to give you more life. Whilst it’s possible to run a successful business without a plan, it’s much, much harder. If we consider how much time and effort we spend choosing a holiday or a new car, then we consider how much more important a business is for our overall wellbeing, we get a sense of what’s required and why. We can help you work out what you want from your business, and therefore how it needs to look. Together we can then build a plan to make it all come together. You’ll then begin to spend time working on that plan, not just doing the day to day stuff, but really focusing on building a better tomorrow. Like most really worthwhile activities, you may have the best of intentions to work on a business plan, but because it’s not usually an urgent requirement, it keeps getting shelved until tomorrow. This is what happens to important, but non-urgent things. They never get done, leading to regret and a life that’s harder than it need be.
